Anne Godfrey, Chief Executive

Anne GodfreyAnne Godfrey CCMI FCIM was appointed Chief Executive of CIEH in January 2016. Specialising in change management within the not for profit space she has a proven track record of delivering challenging targets while harnessing the skills, knowledge and passion of members, staff and external stakeholders.

Previously Anne had leadership roles in a diverse range of membership organisations including CIM, where she was Chief Executive, the Law Society, where she was Director of Commercial and Membership Services, and the CBI where she was Commercial & Marketing Director.

Anne’s earlier career in academic and professional publishing included senior sales, marketing and product development roles for publishers including Prentice Hall and Thomson Reuters. She has a first class honours degree from Glasgow University and a postgraduate diploma in law from Nottingham Law School.

Anne is married to Bill Wilson, a chartered loss adjustor and surveyor, and has two grown up children who have (finally) left home for good.

Debbie Wood, Executive Director of Membership and Professional Development

Debbie Wood Exe Director of Membership and Professional DevelopmentDebbie Wood joined CIEH as Executive Director of Membership and Professional Development in November 2016. Debbie's role sees her leading CIEH’s membership and professional development services, as well as increasing the voice and visibility of the organisation externally to Government, key partners, the media and the wider public.  

She joined CIEH from Solace (the Society of Local Government Chief Executives and Senior Managers) where she served as Group Director responsible for membership, events, organisational management and relationships with business and voluntary sector partners.

Prior to her role at Solace, Debbie started her career at the Association of District Councils, where she was a policy officer with responsibility for environmental health, before working for the Local Government Association and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Based in Winchester, Hampshire, Debbie has a 12 year old Daughter and in her spare time enjoys cooking, entertaining friends and singing – although not necessarily in that order.

Abigail Lammas, Programme Director

Abigail LammasFollowing a period of teaching analytical sciences to veterinary students and zoologists Abi embarked on a career outside of the laboratory to work on national programmes such as the National Teaching and Learning Programme and the transformational QCF Readiness Programme both of which required leadership at the regional level. Abi later took responsibility for the quality of London’s learning and skills provision through the Learning and Skills Improvement Service, working with government agencies and the regulator, Ofsted on quality improvement interventions. Over the last 5 years Abi has worked with a range of professional membership bodies (CIPD, CIM, CIEH, IPM) in a transformational capacity, providing strategic and operational direction.

Abi maintains her own continuing professional development through mentoring adult learners, volunteering at local events, and in her roles as an advisory member of the College of Policing and as an assessor on the National Reader Panel.
