The following is a selection of FAQs about the CIEH Excellence Awards.

▼ Do you have to be a CIEH member to enter the Excellence Awards? 

No. The CIEH Excellence Awards are open to any organisation, company or individual connected to, or working within, the field of environmental health.
▼ Who are the judges? 

We provide the names of the judges, but not the category they are each assigned to. Each category is judged by at least two senior environmental health professionals with relevant expertise. In the unlikely event of the judges not being able to come to a decision on a category winner, the decision of the Chair of Judges will preside.
▼ If someone in our organisation is a judge, can we still enter the awards? 

Yes, but the judge from your organisation will not be assigned to a category which you enter.
▼ Is my entry confidential? 

All judges sign a confidentiality agreement prior to seeing any of the entries. If your entry is shortlisted, you will be asked to remove any information which is confidential, in the event your entry is chosen as the winner. All winning entries are published on the CIEH website as case studies and may be used as future case studies (with the permission of entrants).
▼ What happens if my entry is shortlisted? 

We will announce the shortlist at midday on Thursday 20th July. Each entrant will be contacted individually to be informed of the judges’ decision and the shortlist will be published on the CIEH website.
▼ Do you offer feedback on entries? 

Feedback is not provided on any entry.
▼ Do you accept international entries? 

Yes, you can be based in any country worldwide.
