Microbiological Criteria for Food with an emphasis on Listeria monocytogenes - Northern Ireland


Since the Regulations were published, local authorities have had discussions about the interpretation of the requirements, in particular in relation to Listeria monocytogenes. This course aims to help provide answers for enforcement officers, addressing the key issues through case studies and groups discussion.

Aims and objectives

This training course will improve delegates understanding of:

  • The general requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 2073/2005 on the microbiological criteria of foodstuffs
  • Specific requirements relating to L. monocytogenes (criteria 1.1 – 1.3)
  • How to interpret and help food businesses to comply with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 2073/2005, through discussion based on case study scenarios

Who should attend?

This is a one day course for Environmental Health Practitioners working in local authorities in Northern Ireland only.

Free attendance at this course is subject to availability for one nominated member of staff per local authority in Northern Ireland. Additional places may become available and waiting lists will be managed via FSATraining@cieh.org
